I did not have the pictures last night and wanted to take time to share these today. Thank you to Mrs. Kramer for organizing the JH Cheer clinic this past football and basketball season. The team did an amazing job leading our crowd in cheers at the OTL Basketball tournament.









The Centralia Scholars Bowl team is STATE bound for the 3rd year in a row!
They finished 3rd at Regionals to qualify for the State Scholars Bowl held at Lincoln High School next Saturday, February 15th.

The Centralia FFA Chapter is hosting a Sweetheart dance this Friday, February 7th, after the home basketball game versus Onaga. At the start of the dance they will crown their Chapter Sweetheart.
Centralia FFA Sweetheart Candidates are: Melissa Kramer (Jr.), Abbi Stallbaumer (So.) and Jacie Koch (So.).
Congrats to the candidates!


Centralia's Scholars Bowl team will be competing in Regionals today in Frankfort starting at 4:15 pm.

The Centralia Junior High Girls wrap up their basketball season tonight in the OTL CHAMPIONSHIP game versus Doniphan West. The game starts at 6:00 pm in Onaga in the North Gym.

FCCLA STAR events were in Mission Valley today. We had 8 different project that included 10 members. Everyone worked so hard preparing their projects and represented Centralia well. Great job ladies!

On Friday and Saturday, 4 high school band students participated in the Wichita State University Honor Band. This honor band was based on director nominations. They received their audition music about 2 weeks ago and had chair auditions Friday morning. They spent all day Friday and Saturday rehearsing with roughly 100 other students before their 5:00 concert. These kids worked extremely hard and put on an amazing concert. This is a big honor, and they have a lot to be proud of. Congratulations to Trace Haug, Jayden Heideman, Parker Koch, and Lily Puvogel! Jacie Koch was also accepted into this honor band, but was unable to attend.







On Friday, 18 6-8th grade band students participated in the Washburn Middle School Honor band. This honor band was based on director nominations. They received the music about 2 weeks ago and spent all day Friday rehearsing with roughly 200 other students before their 4:00 concert. These kids worked extremely hard and were one of the most prepared schools there. They did an amazing job and have a lot to be proud of. Congratulations to Hunter Albrecht, Jensen Alderfer, Kylie Alverson, Dani Becker, Derek Becker, Nicole Becker, Riley Broxterman, Avrey Deters, Lola Deters, Brody Fisser, McKenna Griffith, Breena Haug, Taige Koch, Garrett Niehues, Kaylee Olberding, Faith Plager, Jessica Slama, and Hunter Wenzl! Myla Talley was also accepted into this honor band, but was unable to attend.







The Centralia Junior High Girls play Onaga tonight in the Semi-Finals of the OTL Tournament in Onaga. The game tips off at 6:00 pm in the North Gym.

Centralia FBLA had 29 students compete at the District VII contest at Washburn University on Wednesday. We placed 2nd overall out of 16 teams. Top 3 finishers are listed.
Congratulations to Centralia FBLA members! Good luck at the State Contest on March 31 & April 1st.

FBLA had a good day yesterday at Washburn. They will not know the results from the district 7 FBLA contest for a week or two. I wanted to share with you that the advisor in charge of the competition made a point of letting Mrs. Poe know that the Centralia students are amazing students. As they sat in a group in a lobby area waiting on Mrs. Poe, they were quiet, respectful, and they were waiting patiently. Kudos to this group of students. We will share the results of the competition when they are posted!

The Nemaha County Spelling Bee was held at Centralia Schools on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
Representing Centralia were Draidyn Mueting, Boyd Kramer, Kambrie Rempe, Piper Koch, & Riley Broxterman.
Centralia had two participants finish in the Top 3. Piper Koch a 5th Grader here at Centralia finished in 3rd place. And winning the Nemaha County Spelling Bee was Draidyn Mueting a 5th Grader from Centralia!
Draidyn will advance to the Sunflower State Bee held on March 22, 2025 at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is excited to announce our 2025 semifinalists for the Cooke College Scholarship Program. This year, the Cooke Foundation received more than 7,000 applications from students across the country. Congratulations to Parker Koch for being nominated as a semifinalist.
Applications will be reviewed once more to choose the scholarship finalists. The 2025 Cooke College Scholarship recipients will be announced in late March.
