Ty Winter
By Brady Becker and Justin Watkins

Ty Winter was welcomed into this world on June 8, 2008, by his parents Jessi Strathman and the late Andy Winter, and was raised by his step-dad Justin Strathman. Ty has one older sister Delaney Winter. Ty attended Valley Falls prior to coming to Centralia in the summer of 2016.

In his time at Centralia, Ty has been a part of the football team for all four years. He also played basketball for his first two years of high school. Throughout high school Ty was an outstanding member of FFA, KAY’s, and SADD.

Ty was asked his favorite memory from his four years of high school he stated, “My favorite memory in high school was the C team tourney my sophomore year in Sabetha.” Ty said that they were playing well but had lost one game and got yelled at by their coach because they weren't playing as a team. They went on to lose every game at that tournament. Once the tournament was over they got pizza at Casey’s before going home. During Ty's time in high school he said the most influential teacher for him was Roger Holthaus. Ty stated Mr. Holthaus always encouraged me to be the best person that I can be, and that no matter what situation I know that I can call him for advice and he would give it.
After graduation Ty plans on staying with his current job working for Ron Heinen at Goff Grain. Ty’s advice for next year's senior class would be, “make the most of the time you have, and don’t let others' opinions or words about you stop you from doing what you want. As well as you only get a few true friends so keep them close.”
Ty stated that the most challenging part of high school was adapting to having more difficult homework and the complexity of the math and science problems. When asked if he could relive one moment from high school and why he chose “Going to state my junior year. It was a great season with a great team. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to play in every game. The atmosphere was awesome.” After asking how high school has prepared him for the future Ty said, ¨It has shown me that there will always be unfairness in life and that you have to learn who to trust and that there might not always be people in your corner, and that it's very important to keep your circle close.” One fun fact about Ty is that he loves to hunt and fish and that he has been fishing since he was old enough to walk, and hunting for the last six years. Ty would describe his high school experience with the word memorable. He made a few friends and even more memories along the way.

Gradey Becker By Max Walters

On November 2nd of 2007, Gradey Becker was welcomed into this world by his parents, Royce and Monica Becker. He has three older brothers, Ethan, Corbin, and Maveryk. As well as a younger sister, Malayna. After graduating from Centralia High School, Gradey plans to start trucking for JED.
Throughout high school, Gradey has participated in many activities which include football, basketball and baseball. However, if he could pick his favorite activity it would be football. Gradey’s favorite memory in high school was winning at Pittsburg-Colgan for the 2024 Sectional football game. The Pittsburg-Colgan game was also one moment from high school that he would relive. Gradey had extra motivation because we weren’t voted to win and he stated that,”The crowd and game was electric.”
If Gradey was to decide which teacher was his most influential teacher he would choose Mrs. Whetzal. His most challenging part of high school was junior year. Throughout the year, he was always busy with homework, working the concession stand, and playing sports. Gradey had to make sure he was focused and stayed on top of his homework.
Gradey is well prepared for the next chapter of his life where he will start trucking for JED. High school has taught him to enjoy the moments and to get his stuff done on time. As Gradey’s time at Centralia is wrapping up, his advice to next year’s seniors is not to take time for granted and to have as much fun as possible without getting into too much trouble.

Gavin Fulkerson By Brynlee Koch

Gavin Lee Fulkerson was born in August of 2008 to Rachel Fulkerson. He is the youngest out of his three siblings Grant Fulkerson, Karis Larson, and his twin brother Kris Fulkerson. After high school Gavin will be attending Highland Community College to get his general education and possibly looking to become an electrician and will run cross country and track.

During his time in high school Gavin participated in cross country and track, three years at Centralia and one at Wetmore, KAYS, one year at Centralia and one year at Wetmore, scholars bowl, three years at Centralia and one year at Wetmore, and basketball, one year at Wetmore. His favorite extracurricular activity was cross country and track, which tied, because they were both individual and team sports. Gavin considered his greatest talent to be successfully ragebaiting the girls, because they get mad and the boys get hyped when they are successfully ragebaited.

One of his favorite high school memories came from running cross country his senior year and track his sophomore year. Gavin said, “Going to state senior year and medaling 16th, I was projected 26th and wasn’t supposed to medal. Also running the 4x800 with Henry and Brett Heideman my sophomore year.” After being asked what he would miss most about high school, Gavin said, “The support we get in sports at Centralia, I didn’t really feel the same support previously until I came over here.” Gavin admires his Grandpa because he taught him everything he knows and he has been the father figure that he didn’t really have.

Gavin said that his favorite teacher at Centralia had to be Mr. Crowther. “My favorite teacher at Centralia would probably be Mr. Crowther, he was welcoming when I first came to Centralia and I have enjoyed having him as a coach.” After Wetmore closed down Gavin’s freshman year, he transferred to Centralia. He said that one thing he would change about his high school experience is not switching schools his freshman year after Wetmore closed. He said that he wished he would have switched sooner.

The “perfect” future for Gavin would be being an electrician. He said he could picture himself becoming an electrician because he enjoys working with his hands and it’s a career choice he feels he would enjoy. Gavin wanted to leave the upcoming senior class with advice for their final year of high school. He said, “Create memories because senior year goes by fast. And try to stay occupied because you will be bored.”
