The Centralia High School Physics class enjoyed a tour this morning at Kelly Hills Unmanned Systems. Students toured the facility, learned about unmanned aircraft systems, and got a closer look at how drones are being used in agriculture and across the industry.
Nice job to the band who sounded great tonight, the cheer team, and the dance team for doing their parts as well! Great job Panthers!

Last Thursday the 5th grade and 2nd grade took “a trip” to the Reading Café for a Book Tasting during Library class! They explored books of different genres and found some new reading options!
This week Centralia Elementary Teachers and Students are celebrating Dr. Suess's Birthday, March 2, by participating in Read Across America week! Today’s theme is family."You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose" (Oh, the Places You'll Go!)

KMEA Honor Band. Students performed in an ensemble made up of 1A and 2A students from across the state at the Century II Concert Hall in Wichita Kansas. We are very proud of their hard work and dedication to their musical craft. Thanks also to our band director Mr Shearer.
The Centralia Boys continue postseason basketball action today at Olpe in a Sub-State Semifinal game.

Mrs. Wenzl has what she calls Word War Wednesday. Students get to play battleship with spelling words. Two students go against each other and they have a judge that will give them a word to spell. If they spell it right, they can take a "shot" at their opponent, trying to sink their ship. The goal is to sink the other students ships and learn how to spell. This has been a fun way for students to learn spelling words.
K-6th will be celebrating 'Read Across America' next week March 2nd-6th.

The 2nd and 4th graders have celebrated the Olympics the last two weeks. They started with researching an Olympic event, creating a poster, and presenting it. Next, they partnered to design a skier that could ski down a ramp. They got points for time, landing on the target, and landing upright. Today they met again and made a bobsled to go down the ramp. There’s also a map and medal count in the hallway. Both classes had a ton of fun learning more about the Olympics!
Mrs. Holthaus does some STEM activities with the third grade each afternoon. They've been discussing simple machines and today they were applying that knowledge by building a cart using simple machines.

Mr. and Mrs. Conley took students to Forensics meet at Riley County today. Rylan got 5th in a Humorous Solo and The law firm of Schmitz and Koch got 5th in an IDA. Both earned medals 🏅congratulations!!
