Kent Schnakenberg with "Team Schnak" partners with area 8th grade classes to help spread awareness about Type I Diabetes. Today in Mrs. Holthaus's Science class we uncovered our eggs that, the day before, we had put toothpaste on to protect. We then put them in different substances like Gatorade, vinegar, and coffee. We did this because the shell of an egg is the same material as your teeth and we were experimenting on which toothpastes did the best at protecting your teeth. Most of my eggs only stained but Colgate did the best at protecting against staining. Some people put their eggs in vinegar and the eggs became soft and bouncy. In the end, we put all of our data in a table and compared answers to see which toothpaste did the best.
